In football umpires make the decisions, and they have the final say. If we think of peace in the same way, we see that we can let it decide what gets to come into our lives and what needs to get out of our lives.

People with low confidence are double-minded, indecisive people who constantly get frustrated with life. If they do make a decision, they are tormented by self-doubt. 

One meaning of the word fear is “to take flight,” so when we use the phrase “fear not,” in a very real sense we are saying, “Don’t run away from what frightens you.” 

We all have days when we feel more emotional than usual, and there may be many reasons for that. Perhaps you didn’t sleep well the night before, or you ate something that lowered your blood sugar or that you were allergic to.

The word, “love” in the general sense, means to be pleased with; to regard with affection.

Moses made excuses when God called him to service. He said he wasn’t eloquent enough and could not speak (see Exodus 4:10).
